Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The bright ruby-red 2020 La Milonga was made with Syrah that he tries to produce in the style of some wines from Languedoc, with a light color and good acidity, harvesting early (it has only 11.5% alcohol and a pH of 3.25) and fermenting it like a white, pressing the grapes after 12 days in contact with the skins and fermenting the juice with natural yeast but without the skins, and then aging the wine in concrete egg. It’s light and refreshing, with acid berry notes and faint flavors, I guess because of the low ripeness of the grapes. It doesn’t have varietal character or a strong personality. Only 600 bottles were filled in June 2021.
