Description
Roig Boig is a young red wine made from the varieties Cannonau, Mandó, Mònica, Turbat and Sumoll by the Celler La Salada winery in the region of Catalonia.
The grapes for the production of Roig Boig come from old vines planted on clay-limestone soils cultivated in the most natural way possible, as no herbicides, fungicides or any other chemicals are used.
Winemaking
All the varieties are harvested by hand when they reach their optimum ripeness. In the winery, the Roig Boig grapes are left to macerate for a few hours and then gently pressed. The must ferments spontaneously for a month with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks.
Then the wine is aged for 4 months on its lees and finally bottled without added sulphur or any other product.
Taste
Roig Boig is a juicy red wine with very complex fruity and floral aromas and balsamic notes. In the mouth it is fruity and easy to drink. It maintains a smooth passage and a very pleasant acidity that leaves you wanting more.
A fragrant and light red wine
The Celler La Salada winery was created by Toni Carbó to continue the work of his grandfather and father in a land that has never been treated with synthetic products.
This wine has been elaborated by this winery with the minimum intervention and without adding any viticultural products, which has resulted in a wine where the purity of a healthy and living soil has been transferred to the wine.
In the gastronomic field, this wine is perfect as an aperitif and at dinners with friends and is a magnificent accompaniment to Iberian cured meats, stews, stews and blue fish.
Roig Boig is a red wine inspired by tradition and the essence of a land! Dare to try it and leave us your comments!
